Let's Celebrate Fatherhood
Let's Celebrate Fatherhood
June 2014
“Thank you Dad!” was said by many Children as they were leaving the Father 2 Father event held at the Prince of Wales Children’s Centre last Sunday 16th June. Father 2 Father held a “Fathers Day celebration” of male role models and featured family activities, advice and support.
Families, in particular fathers and male carers had the opportunity to play games with their children. Testing their individual skills and abilities with fun activities such as sumo wrestling and bungee jumping combined with the traditional sack and egg and spoon racing. There were live shows from artists featuring dance, singers and musicians. The Boys Brigade, Oasis Academy was present providing activities as well as promoting their services. Cancer Research was one of the health advice and support stands providing leaflets and information, making sure that Fathers had the opportunity to know more about important Men’s Health issues such as prostrate cancer.
Father 2 Father is an Organisation dedicated to inspiring fathers throughout the Borough of Enfield by promoting and celebrating male role models. The shocking events of August 2013 that saw violence sweep through the community highlighted the need for an effective family based response.
Statistics show that 46% of lone parent families that are living below the poverty line; the vast majority of these households have no father figure.
Father 2 Father believe that men need to play a role in family life if our young people are to develop and reach their potential.
Nick Du Bois who attended the event said “This is the beginning of something we should treasure; something that is important to Enfield!”

July 2017
On the Monday 31st July 2017, Courtney Brown (CEO & Founder of Father2Father), and his family visited the Spicy Grove Community Centre in Oracabessa, Jamaica.
They received a warm welcome, complete with singing, dancing and a personalised banner from the ‘Strong Women of Spicy Grove’ and their sons.
Courtney took the young men (aged 8-15yrs) outside for motivating talk and an open and confidential discussion on ‘Male-hood’.
This discussion was truly heart felt and brought many of the women to tears as they finally had an understanding about how hurt many men are.
Before Courtney and his family headed back to their hotel in Montego Bay, they were spoilt to a delicious meal made by the in-house cook in the recently built kitchen. Over lunch the family had the opportunity to speak to the ladies individually and see their amazing crafts – which they couldn’t resist purchasing!
As the day drew to an end, Courtney gave away 25 copies of the F2F recently published Colouring Book and was further led by the lord to leave a monetary donation towards the new Breakfast Club initiative which starts September 2017. This Breakfast club will feed any child which visits Spicy Grove before school, insuring that every child has a decent breakfast - instead of the Sugar Water many of them endure out of poverty.

August 2017
On the 12th August 2017, Father2Father was honoured to be co sponsor of The Countdown production.
The Countdown is a gripping heartfelt, true to life drama which gives a multifaceted snapshot of four young people growing up in the heart of a London Neighbourhood grappling with gang crime, anti-social behaviour & sexual exploitation.
It was great to partner with Karen Allen to raise awareness of very current issues - and having a stall at the production allowed us to get the F2F message out.
